Administration > Business Office > Personnel/Payroll > Student Assistant Employees Student Assistant Classification Review If a student's duties or levels of responsibility and/or independence have substantially changed, a supervisor should discuss the possibility of a change in classification with their Personnel/Payroll Representative. The supervisor will be asked to submit a revised job description for the student and be advised of any change to classification and pay rate. Any change to classification will be effective on the first day of the following pay period. Information about the classification levels (Student Assistant II - IV) and the corresponding pay rates, can be found in the Career Center's Policy and Procedure Manual: "Student Assistant Classification Series Concept". Note: To request pay rate increases without changes to classification see Student Evaluations/Merit Increases.
