Administration > Business Office > Personnel/Payroll > Staff Employees Dean's Memo RE: Campus Closure December 2007 TO ALL PHYSICAL AND BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES FACULTY, RESEARCHERS AND STAFF RE: December 2007 Campus Closure I would like to clarify the impact of the December campus closure on Physical and Biological Sciences. We have been asked to make every effort possible to conform to the Chancellor's mandate of restricting activities during the closure period December 22, 2007 through January 1, 2008. However, utilities to Physical and Biological Sciences' buildings and facilities will remain fully operational. Buildings will be heated and locked in the same manner as on weekends and holidays. Detailed information about heat in the science hill buildings during the closure was sent out earlier this week. Authority is being delegated to Department Chairs, ORU Directors and Unit Managers to authorize exceptions to the closure and approve staff to work. I ask that attempts be made to keep staff and services to a minimum, using only where operational needs exist. Staff in the Dean's and Business Offices and in the Stockroom/Receiving and Facilities areas are com¬plying with the mandate and these offices will be closed. This closure will require all of us to plan ahead. Requests for information or services from fellow staff and arrangements for purchases and receipt of goods will need to be made well in advance. The “Fact Sheet 07” will hopefully answer any questions you may have regarding purchasing and receiving, stockroom, and facilities issues related to the closure. Academic employees can find December time and attendance information at: http://pbsbo.ucsc.edu/personnel_payroll/acad/acad_clos.html. Staff employees will receive time and attendance information via a separate e-mail from the CruzPay system. Since there will be minimal staff here during the closure, please be cautious when working alone, keep outside doors locked, and notify campus police if you see any¬thing suspicious. Thank you for your cooperation and compliance with this measure. Sincerely,
