Alternate Schedule or Changes in Time

Alternate Schedule or Reduction in Time
Requests for an alternate work schedule or reduction in percentage of time worked requires prior, written approval of the employee's supervisor and the Division. Please print, and complete a Request to Work an Alternate or Reduced Work Schedule form (PDF); sign the form (both employee and supervisor) and send it to the Natural Sciences Business Office. After the request has been reviewed, a copy of the form, signed by the Business Office, will be returned to the employee and supervisor.

Employees requesting to work a reduced work schedule, should contact their Personnel/Payroll Representative, prior to making the request, to discuss any possible effects of this reduction (e.g. on leave accruals, benefits, etc.)

If working or requesting a nonstandard work schedule, e.g. 4 10-hour days, employees should discuss time reporting with their Payroll/Personnel Representative, e.g. reporting time during weeks/months having a holiday, or when taking vacation. This is especially important for part time employees. For additional information, see instructions for reporting holiday hours.
